Gerry Scanlon

Name: Gerry Scanlon
Job Role: Senior Project Engineer
Joined Guardian: 2003

Gerry served his Electrical Apprenticeship for the London Electricity Board in 1980-1984, where he stayed until 1986, serving as an Approved Electrician.

After gaining this invaluable experience, Gerry became a self-employed contractor from 1986-1990, increasing his electrical knowledge as well as familiarity with such factors as test certification, test schedules, and Operation & Maintenance manuals.

In 1990, Gerry gained employment as an Approved Electrician at the prestigious John Lewis store at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, London. During this time, Gerry continued his electrical tuition, gaining three BTEC Certificates and Diplomas.

He remained at Brent Cross until 1996, at which time he was promoted to John Lewis Head Office in Victoria, London, to take up the role of Test and Inspection Engineer.

After 13 happy years at the John Lewis Partnership, Gerry left to join Guardian ECL in 2003, to become a Project Engineer with the company. In January 2008, he was promoted to Senior Project Engineer, the role he still holds today.
