The conversion of our new branch at Biggin Hill presented us with surely our biggest challenge so far. As you know everything on the shopfloor and all the refrigeration behind the scenes has had to be changed within the now customary short time scale. I know from all that I have heard that this meant intensive and imaginative round the clock working by our contractors and the teams managing this latest conversion. The shop floor this morning looked just outstanding, another massive illustration of what we as a business now take in our stride even if the outcome dose belie the huge personal efforts made by so many before Steven and I get to see the near finished article. This scale of transformation added to the success of our first VBS installation for opening has made Biggin Hill another landmark opening for Waitrose.
Many of you will be understandably tired just now but I'm sure you'll all feel proud of what you and your teams, including our contractors, have yet again achieved. Please accept my personal congratulations and thanks on a terrific job and please pass on my thanks to your teams as usual Theresa will confirm the early trading results.
