The Guardian remit was for the full electrical survey and design, which included guest accommodation blocks, staff accommodation houses, and the new utility building.

Work commenced on the 12th January 2009 with a completion date of the 17th April 2009 for the main hotel and accommodation blocks. As the hotel was fully booked on the 18th April there was no room for mistakes, and an emphasis to complete the project to its tight deadline.

Guardian organised the upgrade of the mains supply and meter to cope with the additional load the new services would require. Wherever possible, existing circuits were to be reused and tested to be fully compliant with the 17th edition.
A new sub-mains was installed for the Utility Building and work started on this phase of the installation on the 11th May 2009, with a completion date of the 29th May 2009.
Systems Installed & Altered
The job was challenging due to the location and structure of the building, not to mention the difficulty of tracing existing circuits without causing unnecessary damage to the building.
The job ran smoothly, and the main hotel and guest blocks opened in time for the first bookings on the 18th April 2009.
