Hugo Boss Canary Wharf
Luxury menswear label Hugo Boss recently launched a new store in Cabot Place Shopping Mall, the new shopping complex in London’s Canary Wharf.
Guardian ecl was the electrical contractor for the new store, installing power, lighting and data on the new site.
Renowned for sophisticated tailoring the store demanded a designer feel to its fixtures and fittings. Special light fittings were sourced from Germany and installed by the Guardian team to complete the high fashion Hugo Boss “look”.
It wasn’t all plain sailing in the six week project. Project manager Dave Hogan spoke of the particular challenges raised by enhanced security at Canary Wharf as a result of the suspected terrorist attack in 2004.
“all deliveries had to be booked in with security staff 48 hours in advance, with the delivery vehicle details to be confirmed on the day. This project required special attention to detail. On such a tight schedule you can’t afford to miss a delivery and have work delayed.”
Despite these challenges the project went without a hitch and the store was the first in the new shopping complex to be ready for business. Hugo Boss celebrated with a launch party on April 3rd – complete with resident DJ and cocktails served at the in-store bar.
Guardian is delighted with the success of the inaugural project for Hugo Boss and who knows, perhaps designer Guardian ecl staff uniforms are next on the agenda!?
